Our Family
Kurt Scheel founded Legend Mortgage in Phoenix, Arizona in 1994 after a long career in commercial real estate. With an intimate knowledge of real estate within the valley, Kurt was eager to pare his experience with his financing education (Miami University of Ohio undergrad and Ohio State MBA). Kurt perceived a need for a more professional, personalized mortgage finance service and designed Legend Mortgage’s lending procedures to serve that need. Kurt now lives in Tubac, Arizona near Tucson where he enjoys hiking in the desert and admiring the unique beauty of southern Arizona’s sky mountains.
Lindsey Scheel (Kurt’s daughter) graduated from Northern Arizona University with a degree in Finance and Marketing. She too began a career in real estate; initially as a new home sales agent with Pulte Homes of Las Vegas, NV, and then as a residential real estate broker in Flagstaff, AZ. She joined her father at Legend Mortgage in 2018 after a decade as a top producing Mortgage Banker at Chase Bank. As an independent mortgage broker, Lindsey is able to offer her clients paramount service, term flexibility and financial savings. Lindsey resides in Northern Arizona, in beautiful Flagstaff, with her husband and two young boys. When given the gift of free time, Lindsey enjoys a hot yoga workout, Flagstaff’s live music scene, and hiking the majestic San Francisco Peaks.
